The iconic SICYC “Vice Commodores” Rendezvous is held annually on the last full weekend of August – this year (2021) that is the 26th – 29th August. This is an event not to be missed – 4 days of fun, great camaraderie and good times with like minded people.
It is located at the home of SICYC – Shag Islet, near beautiful Gloucester Passage in the Whitsundays. View the location on the SICYC Map.
The countdown to SICYC Rendezvous 2021 has begun!
(subject to change – just like the weather forecasts)
Also, as usual, there will be prizes for the best dressed boat by day and best dressed boat by night, as well as the judging of the Rasta party costumes for best costume male and best costume female and raffles and auctions, merchandise for sale etc. If you’ve never been to the Rendezvous, you really need to get there – the first time you will be referred to as a Rendezvous “virgin’ and the more experienced shaggers will make you feel very welcome.
Below are just a few snippets of past Rendezvous(ers) in their natural habitat!
This is an event you don’t want to miss. See the Creek to Coast coverage below from previous Rendezvous.
Shag Islet is situated in the Gloucester Passage in the Whitsunday Region in North Queensland, Australia (20 03.8 S ... 148 26.5 E). It is a small, rocky islet with a beach which is exposed on the southern end on a falling tide.
There is nothing on the islet except at the annual SICYC Rendezvous when hundreds of "Vice Commodores" gather on the last week end in August each year. MAP
