RENDEZVOUS 2026 -
NOSTALGIA, UNAPOLOGETIC AND A LITTLE MISCHIEVIOUS...

The 2026 Rendezvous is shaping up to be anything but ordinary, with organisers unveiling a major theme night that promises equal parts nostalgia, nautical flair and unapologetic mischief. Titled
  “Nauti-Cal Schoolies,”
the Saturday night spectacle on 29 August is expected to draw more than 300 boaties into a world where schoolyard chaos collides the with life on the high seas — and rope is the undisputed star accessory.

Described as a mischievous mash-up of “school uniforms gone rogue” and cheeky maritime mayhem, ‘Nauti-Cal Schoolies’ invites attendees to revisit their classroom days — with a distinctly adult twist.  Think uniforms that look as though they’ve weathered a storm. Shirts half-tucked or knotted at the waist. Crooked ties and sailor collars. Skirts and shorts hitched up
and cinched with rope belts. Mismatched socks peeking out beneath deck shoes. The dress code sets the tone: “Naughty, Nautical, and Not Quite Regulation.” The beauty of the theme, organisers say, lies in its flexibility. “Everyone can go as mild or as wild as they like,” one committee member explained. “It’s about having a laugh. You can throw on a crooked tie and a sailor hat, or you can go all out with rope accessories and full character mode.”

LET’S GET FRIDAY NIGHT STARTED!

Under a mild tropical night sky, SICYC’s very first Masquerade Party is set to come to life in spectacular style at Gloucester Resort, Cape Gloucester, on the Friday night of the last weekend of August 2026.

Members and friends are invited to arrive dressed in elegant masks and glamorous outfits (fit for the beach), bringing mystery, colour and excitement to the evening. From the moment guests step into the venue, the atmosphere promises to be vibrant and full of anticipation. Soft lighting, music drifting through the evening air, and the stunning coastal backdrop will create the perfect setting for a truly memorable night.

The masquerade theme encourages creativity and fun, with masks expected to range from classic Venetian styles to bold and imaginative designs. Guests will enjoy the playful challenge of guessing who is behind each disguise, with laughter and friendly conversation flowing throughout the night.

Beyond the glamour and entertainment, the evening has an important purpose. The event brings members together for a fun and inclusive night while also raising funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer. Through the generosity and participation of those attending, the evening helps shine a light on an important cause that affects many families within our wider community.

The Masquerade Party also strengthens community spirit within SICYC. Members, partners and friends come together to socialise, share stories and enjoy the lively atmosphere. The beautiful setting of Gloucester Resort provides the perfect venue for everyone to relax, connect and celebrate.

A highlight of the evening will be the Best Mask and Costume competition, where creativity takes centre stage and a few standout designs are sure to draw admiration from the crowd.

As the night unfolds, SICYC’s first Masquerade Party promises to become a glamorous evening of fun, friendship and community support — and perhaps the beginning of a wonderful new club tradition.

Congratulations Shaggers.  SICYC Members have donated in excess of $800,000 to Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

swashbuckling style and playful antics. “Walk the Plank” was a highlight
Walk The Plank Me Hearties

AARRG.  SWASHBUCKLING PIRATE PARTY

The last Sunday in August is here again, bringing the perfect ending to a fantastic weekend as the Shaggers gather poolside for their traditional “See Ya Next Year” Pirate Party. The sun is shining, the pool glistens, and members arrive dressed for the occasion—striped shirts, bandanas, eye patches and the occasional plastic sword—ready for one last afternoon of laughter before everyone heads home.

The pool deck quickly fills with chatter and cheerful greetings as friends settle into deck chairs and claim spots around the water. The festive atmosphere builds as more pirates appear, each costume adding to the colourful scene.

Stretching boldly out over the water is the famous plank.

The much-anticipated “Walk the Plank” soon begins, drawing a lively crowd along the pool’s edge. One by one, brave pirates step forward to confess their playful misdeeds from the weekend—stealing dance partners, telling outrageous tall tales, or perhaps being a little too enthusiastic at the dessert table.

Each guilty pirate pays their bounty into the collection before attempting the walk. Some stride confidently along the plank, others wobble dramatically to entertain the crowd, and a few end their confession with a refreshing splash into the pool below. Every step is met with cheers, laughter, and plenty of pirate-style heckling from the audience.

The bounty jar steadily fills as the afternoon rolls on, proof that pirate mischief has been plentiful throughout the weekend.

Between plank walks, members relax by the pool, share stories, admire the creative costumes, and soak up the warm, festive atmosphere.

Before long, the familiar call rings out around the deck—“See ya next year!”—as the pirates enjoy one last splash of fun together. 🏴‍☠️💦
